How to Report NDIS Fraud

Fraud in the NDIS not only affects the scheme’s sustainability but can also put participants at risk. We are committed to delivering ethical, transparent, and participant-centred support. It’s important for participants, families, and providers to understand what NDIS fraud is—and how to report it.

What Is NDIS Fraud?

NDIS fraud is any dishonest behaviour intended to misuse or steal NDIS funds. This can include:

  • Charging for services that weren’t delivered
  • Overcharging for supports
  • Falsifying invoices or documents
  • Pressuring participants to spend their funding in certain ways
  • Using participant details without consent to make claims

NDIS fraud hurts not just the scheme, but also the people it was created to support. Thankfully, there are ways to report suspicious activity safely and confidentially.

How to Report NDIS Fraud

If you suspect fraud or misuse of NDIS funds, you can report it directly to the NDIS Fraud Reporting and Scams Helpline:

You can make a report anonymously if you prefer. The NDIS takes all reports seriously and investigates through the appropriate channels.

What Information Should You Provide?

When reporting NDIS fraud, include as much detail as possible to assist with the investigation:

  • What happened and when
  • Names of people or providers involved
  • Any evidence (invoices, emails, text messages, etc.)
  • How you became aware of the suspicious behaviour

Protecting Yourself as a Participant

To help prevent fraud, it’s important to:

  • Keep your NDIS details private
  • Check your invoices and claims regularly
  • Work with registered, reputable providers
  • Don’t feel pressured to spend funding unnecessarily

How We Ensure Integrity

We follow strict ethical guidelines and NDIS quality standards to protect our participants. Our team ensures:

  • Transparent pricing and service agreements
  • Clear invoicing and communication
  • Participant choice and control at all times

If you ever feel unsure about something, we encourage you to speak up. Our team is here to listen and take your concerns seriously.
